Required Registry Settings and Permissions to Monitor Workstations and VDIs
I’m not seeing information from my workstations and/or VDIs in my reports. Are there additional settings I need to enable, in order to monitor them successfully?
1.) In order for our software to monitor RDS remotely and collect session and program information, the following key and value must be set on the client workstation:
KEY: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server
VALUE: AllowRemoteRPC must be set to 1
You can apply a Group Policy Object or edit the registry directly (remotely) with Regedit to accomplish this change.
2.) If the Windows Firewall is turned on within your VDIs, make sure you allow exceptions for Remote Administration (if present), Remote Service Management (if present), and Remote Desktop.
