Can I Manage and Monitor Terminal Servers or AVD Hosts Across a Firewall, WAN Link, or Different Azure VNET?
Can I manage and monitor terminal servers or AVD hosts across a firewall or WAN link? Are there any special TCP/UDP ports that need to be opened on firewalls for communication to occur?
Our software needs access via lots of ports to do its job (namely dynamic RPC, authentication ports like Kerberos, and WMI). It also needs low latency between the host where it is installed and the RDS/AVD hosts it is collecting data from. Therefore, using our software to manage or poll data across a firewall, WAN link, or different Azure VNET is not recommended. Instead, install it on one of the servers/hosts inside the same network segment as your RDS farm or AVD resource group and VNET. You can then publish the Remote Desktop Commander Client or any other RDPSoft Configuration tools as RemoteApps to access dashboards and perform management actions as required. For more information on how to deploy the Remote Desktop Commander Client as a RemoteApp or on a Jumpbox host, please consult this step-by-step wizard here.
